AMY MERRICK'S respect for natural grace is inescapable in her work as a floral designer and stylist. Before she could walk, her parents and older sister fostered in her an utmost reverence for the wild beauty that surrounded the Merrick family's Depression-era farmhouse. In 2009, Amy put her passion for flowers to work at the floral studio Saipua, where she became their first-ever full-time associate floral designer. Now working under her own name, she creates evocative tablescapes of flowers, foliage, fruits and branches for weddings and events throughout the northeast, often traveling and gathering materials herself from the surrounding landscape. As a stylist, she frequently draws on her attraction to antiquity, and with a fresh eye, she reimagines photoshoots for web and print.

Amy's arrangements, DIY projects and writings have appeared in Whole Living, Garden Design, Country Living, Dominomag.com, Venus Magazine, CNN Finance and Yahoo!. She writes the popular weekly column living in on Design*Sponge, and you can follow her adventures in floral mischief on her own blog, an apple a day.
